Line emission spectrum of Hydrogen
The hydrogen line emission spectrum is made of a series of lines of violet, blue, blue green and red, these are located in the visible region of the spectrum.
The series of line depicted in figure 1, is also known as the Balmer series; this consists of lines which are associated with electronic transitions; taking place from the energy levels which are located upwards, to the lower n=2 energy level. (fig 1)

Four lines are seen in visible and ultraviolent regions of spectrum
- they make up the Balmer series.
